Gratitude Journal: The Five Minute Journal

GRATITUDE JOURNAL THE FIVE MINUTE JOURNAL.jpg

Did you know it's scientifically proven that keeping a daily gratitude journal leads to better sleep, reductions of physical pain, a greater sense of well-being, and a better ability to handle change?

I don't know about you, but if I ever get in a funk, it's typically out of a lack of being intentional regarding my thoughts and mindset. Gratitude changes everything. It's truly amazing. But, it is a practice. So, like working out or brushing your teeth, you have to practice it on the regular to expect long lasting and measurable results that benefit you daily.

For me, there are two very important times of the day where I need to reign in my thoughts and refocus toward gratitude: right when I wake up in the morning, and right before I let my head hit the pillow at night. So, when I found The Five Minute Journal, it was such a perfect fit for me.

The Five Minute Journal has a section you fill out in the morning stating 3 things you are grateful for, 3 things that would make the day great, and a place to write affirmations. It takes less than 5 minutes to fill out. I've tried doing this in my mind upon waking without the Journal, but for me putting pen to paper really makes a difference. In the evening, it has a place to fill out 3 great things that happened that day, and a spot where you note how you could've made the day even better.
