9 Real Ways to Earn More Money

Whether you’re looking to save up for a big vacation, a new appliance, or you’re just looking to pad your emergency savings, it can be totally worth it to find ways to increase your earnings each month. With a little ingenuity and some time, there are countless ways to cut your spending and pump up your income to create some extra financial margin. I’ve included a few of my favorite ideas below.

1. Decrease Your Home Spending

Although this isn’t technically a way to “earn”, it can have the same result in creating more financial buffer for you. Paying for things that were relevant, helpful, and in alignment in the past but aren’t working for you in your current season of life can undermine your earning, big time. Each expense you have should be put to the test. Doing this yearly has caused me to make choices as big as changing where I live and as small as canceling a streaming service - both which increased my spending money. Imagine if you did this with all your expenses.✨ If you need help walking through this process I’ve created a 7-day workbook to help you do just that (including my personal tips and scripts to make the process seamless)! Here’s the link: Budget Detox (home edition)

2. Rent Out Your Extra SPACE

If you have an extra space that isn’t being used, such as a guest room, garage suite, or pool house, you may want to consider renting them out to travelers! This can be a great source of additional income each month, particularly if you live in a popular travel destination. And, if you don’t have an extra room but you have a unique property, you can even rent out areas of your land for people to camp in! Every part of your home can help bring in money, if you’re creative and willing to put in a little effort.

3. SELL THINGS YOU NO LONGER USE

Chances are, you’ve got plenty of unwanted items sitting around your homes or hiding in closets or the garage. Instead of letting these items collect dust, consider having a garage sale or selling them online through sites like Facebook Marketplace to both declutter your home and temporarily increase your income. Win, win! (This is especially great for bigger ticket items like items like: appliances, equipment, or furniture)

4. SELL YOUR INTERESTS OR SKILLS

Pet sitting, blogging, online freelancing, or tutoring a student are all easy things you can do out of your home, requiring not much more than an internet connection and a good attitude. Increasing your income (without increasing your spending) is one of the easiest ways to affect your take home pay in a positive way.

If You Have a Business…

If you’re a business owner, there are some additional things you might want to consider to increase your earning. Here are some creative ideas for getting the most out of your business, space, equipment and product:

5. create a promotion for products or services you already have

If you have products that are just sitting on shelves (literally or figuratively), or you offer a service that none of your customers are taking advantage of, it may be time to put some energy toward promoting them. Consider creating a promotion or sale to entice people to purchase these items from your business. You also may want to consider bundling your more stagnant products with some of your more popular ones to help move them along and increase your earning.

6. Decrease Your Business Spending

You may want to take a look at the services you’re paying for, to see if you can lower your monthly spending. This may include things like supplies, marketing, utilities, or even any rent you’re paying for office or storefront property. By decreasing your spending each month, you’ll cut less into your profits and have the ability to increase your monthly take home pay with little effort! I recommend doing this every single year to make sure your spending is up-to-date with your current goals. 7. Rent Out Your Stuff

If you’re not using your specialty equipment or office space 24/7, you may want to consider renting it out and making a little money back on your expenses. Or, if you don’t use physical equipment and your business is based on you providing expert services, consider freelancing in your off hours or even acting as a consultant. Finding ways to maximize your productive time can seriously help increase your take home pay.

8. Create a PASSIVE product

Is there a way you can package your services or expertise to reach more people, without having to be physically there to help those people learn or accomplish their goal? Consider self-publishing a book or creating an online course or PDF guide so people can benefit from your expertise while you earn extra money and get to keep on running your business as usual!

9. Evaluate How You’re Spending Your Time

Are you stifling your earning potential with spending your time on less-than-profitable activities? I’ve been there!🙊😬 If you think this might be the case for you, take yourself out on a coffee date to disconnect from the busyness of day-to-day tasks and reconnect with your higher thinking. Are you really spending time in a way that makes the most sense for your profitability? Is it time to restructure your time, set firm boundaries, or hire a freelancer to help? (note: I recommend getting your systems and personal boundaries down FIRST before hiring, otherwise you may create a situation that gives you less time to spend on profitable activities rather than more time).
